Be careful little doggies!

A friend just sent me a link to a story about a dog named Chai who had a horrible accident with the most unlikely thing...a ball! And it does not seem to be an isolated incident. It involves a product that the company Four Paws Inc, produces. The toy is a nobby ball with a bell.

This pictures was taken after it was cut off Chai's tongue. While chewing on the toy, a vacuum was created and it sucked Chai's tongue into the hole in the ball. Chai's vet said this likely occurred because there is not a second hole in the ball preventing the vacuum effect from happening. The vacuum was so stron that it was not able to be just pulled off and had to be surgically removed. After removal, Chai's tongue swelled so bad and suffered so much trauma that it had to be amputated.

Ooh flea market fun!

Some flea market finds from our town wide yard sale. Love town wide yard sales! They should be every weekend! Vintage rhinestone sparklies, old hand mirrors, a big ol' box of antique keys, big honkin' blue glass mason jars, and my most favorite of all...antique silver...who sells that? And for $5.00, mind you! Well, thank goodness they do because I love me an old silver bargain...yay! Do you see the cute detail on all the silver? Escpeacially the one with the C on it for moi! Love it! I collect it and use it in my house all mismatched and crazy. I feel so regal with antique silverware...makes everything taste better when you are eating off of fancy old china and antique silverware doesn't it?

She is definitely one of my favs...over the top decadence and the most beautiful mix of all types of farics, prints, furniture and style. The wall of dog oil paintings are divine being that we are total dog lovers. My mission now is to start collecting and make my own fab dog wall.

I am completely not into sports whatsoever. It actually makes me mental how much my fiance, Mr. Handsome, watches them. I just have no interest at all. Mr. Handsome does try his hardest to interest me in any sport with any angle possible but I just can't get into it! Sorry, give me HGTV anyday and I am hooked for hours, but sports? No thanks. There have only been a few sporting events or stories that have sparked my interest...Lance Armstrong winning the Tour De France like a hundred times in a row, Dara Torres because she is a total inspiration, and Michael Phelps breaking all kinds of records at the Olympics. Now I finally understand why Mr. Handsome gets so excited while watching sports! Amazing feats by amazing talents. Congratulations !

Such fabulous new cuteness at the shop to show you! Everything you see here is made by a wonderfully creative designer, artiste and all around fancy gal named Jamey. She is from Jersey and is the cutest thing on Earth. She pretty much makes everything including the clothes she was wearing when she brought these amazing new things to us! The bangles are wrapped in silk and adorned with vintage brooches and boy do they scream decadence but in a cool rock n roll way. Feast your eyes upon these...

As if that fab display of gorgeousness isn't enough, she also makes these cute framed and very fancy jewelry holders!!! A perfect way to organize and keep your jewelry under control in a totally cute way. They are like art!

An addiction to rearranging?

Everyone in my family says that I am a crazy lunatic because I move furniture around so much so I was wondering if I was the only one? Every since I can remember I have been a rearranger. It started with my own room when I was younger, now it is my own house and my shop. I just can't stop and I can't help myself. Of course my fiance and my brother always want to kill me because they end up having to move the big stuff. I am no wimp though...I must say that I am wicked strong and will only ask them to move something when it is extraordinarily heavy. I think I have built my furniture moving muscles over the years so they are more highly developed which allows me to single handedly carry dressers down stairs and such. I also hate to wait for something to be done so if no one is around to help I am moving it myself, somehow, someway. I have become pretty ingenious about it though...my most recent trick was moving a huge dresser from an upstairs bedroom to my downstairs living room. I flipped it upside down, got in front of it on the stairs and slid it down. Pretty easy actually and better than waiting for someone! I am also a night owl so much of this rearranging happens in the wee hours of the night usually somewhere around 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning. Nighttime is always my most creative...I really don't get going until at least 10pm. So there is a bit of a scarcity of people who want to move furniture at that time...namely my fiance and brother. I think maybe I will start posting my moves here!

Anyhoot, I started writing about this because last week I changed around my shop and moved my checkout counter into our little cupcake section and then put a new checkout counter in it's place...well this was a very bad mistake and the spirits of Le Petit Garage were not in agreeance with this move. After I moved my counter I had the worst week of sales all summer. Now my counter is a huge antique wood piece that is over 10ft long...it is a big mama so this time I had to enlist the services of my fiance and bro. I told them that my shops feng shui was all out of whack so the counter had to be put back immediately! My bro then proceeded to tell me that I was a crazy person but agreed anyway to come at closing time to move it. We close at 10pm...I started moving stuff off the counter to get ready for the original counter to be moved back to its spot. I left the shops front door open for air and as soon as I cleared the space to make way for the original counter 14 people came in, not together mind you. Now I have a tiny shop so 14 people is quite a few bodies to have in here. Everyone bought something and the last couple bought lots of goodies. I always say that I just move stuff around all the time because I haven't found its perfect place yet...somy counter is now definitely in its proper place. I really think a house or a shop or where you live really speaks to you as far as the design and decor. You just have to listen!

Made from old pieces of wood, with fun bright summer colors and some cool little accents like bottle caps. See, recycling can be good for the Earth and good for your decor too. Check them out.....

A fresh start.

We are undergoing a little design revamp to spruce up our blog and to get us back in blogging mode. Sometimes you just need a fresh start to get yourself going again so look for new posts from us regularly as soon as our blog is complete! In the meantime feast your eyes on these cute patoot bathrooms that I saw on the Domino blog. I am obsessed with changing my bathroom right now because I loathe, oh yes I said loathe, it's very existence. Sorry bathroom. talk soon!

Congratulations to Uno, the 15-inch beagle, for his triumph at the Westminster Dog Show!
Uno became the first beagle since 1939 to win the hound group at Westminster and has made history by becoming the first beagle to win Best In Show at the Westminster Kennel Club.
